OCETA e-News Release: April 2008
OCETA pleased to announce OTF funding for Durham Sustainability Stewardship Program Collaborative

On March 6, 2008, the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) awarded a three-year $143,100 grant for delivery of the Durham Sustainability Stewardship Program - a collaborative initiative between the Ontario Centre for Environmental Technology Advancement (OCETA), Canadian Centre for Pollution Prevention (C2P2), and Durham Sustain Ability - to support community-based environmental stewardship, education and outreach in Durham Region.

Through a series of workshops and other environmental education and outreach activities, the program will generate awareness on the opportunities to reduce the environmental footprint among Durham Region stakeholders (governments, businesses, school communities, health care organizations, youth, seniors, and local citizens); encourage behavior change from all sectors of society towards adopting Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) Practices through pollution prevention (P2) & energy efficiency (E2); and achieve real, quantifiable environmental reductions in toxics, smog precursors, greenhouse gases and hazardous wastes.

OCETA gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the
