On December 6th, 2007, at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) in partnership with Ontario Centre for Environmental Technology Advancement (OCETA) and the City of Mississauga held a highly successful Stakeholders Pollution Prevention Workshop: Reducing Ecological Footprint in the Sheridan and Cooksville Creek Watersheds.
63 stakeholders from across Sheridan and Cooksville Creek Watersheds participated in the workshop.
This was a must attend workshop to provide Sheridan and Cooksville Creek Watershed stakeholders with a forum to discuss and share information on pollution prevention opportunities and activities within the watersheds while strengthening pollution prevention partnerships across stakeholder communities.
The FREE workshop provided participants information on:
- Understanding impacts of activities of community businesses, institutions, and the public on ecosystem health in Cooksville Creek, Sheridan Creek Watersheds & Rattray Marsh
- Pollution Prevention (P2) opportunities & best storm water management practices for Industrial, Commercial & Institutional Sectors within the Watersheds
- Making the business case for pollution prevention - How small and medium-sized manufacturers can save MONEY and reduce toxics, hazardous waste, wastewater effluents and smog-causing pollutants at the source
